the perfect mascara.
I don't really think much about good/bad hair days...I guess that's one blessing about stick-straight long hair...it doesn't do much but be straight...and a ponytail is always an option.
But I really don't like bad mascara days...do you know what I mean? Mascara is the one thing that I always use...every day...even if I'm not leaving the house and just wearing pajamas. Something about wearing mascara makes me feel more awake.
And in case you are wondering about the history of mascara, click here.
I only wear black mascara...although I always spend forever deciding which one to try and then get home and realize that I accidentally picked up the brown-black one or the navy one or even the purple one.
I don't like waterproof mascara.
I like mascara that comes off easily in water but doesn't run onto your lower lids and look like watercolor paint that is impossible to get off without staining your towels.
I usually just buy drugstore brand mascara but I wouldn't mind paying a little more for beauty counter brands if it worked wonderfully.
I don't like my lashes so thick that they all stick together...but I don't like them thin either.
And I can never remember which brand/style that I like in order to buy a second one, so I might just have to blog about the one I choose, that way I'll have a record of it :)
As you have probably guessed, today is not the greatest of mascara days. Anyone have any suggestions? (And by the way, my mom informed me that lots of you friends from Asheville days read this and don't comment...so you need to comment, okay? Then I can email you or blog you back and then we can be in touch, see?)

hey- it's jayme- i love reading your blog and seeing your adorable pictures!- i never knew how to comment until your mom told me-
let me know when you find the perfect mascara!!
You are too cute....I have had these same mascara issues for years, always trying the "latest and greatest" to find out it never worked quite right. I completely love good old Great Lash by Maybelline in the bright pink tube? Day after day, it never fails me! Good luck in your search.
it's Meredith-another Ashevillian guilty of reading, but not commenting:) i tried your apple pie recipe this week and it was a hit with my hubby too, thanks for passing it along. I always buy a new mascara every time, can't say I've found one I love or have to have, wish I could be more help.
Kimber, my great friend Becki gave me Dior's Show mascara as part of my birthday present last year and it has changed my life. I've always used L'Oreal Voluminous and used to be satisfied with it but I've been ruined by the thick but not clumpy DiorShow, the sturdy wand and brush bristles that don't stick together, and the application that's as smooth as cutting butter. I never knew I could love mascara this much! It's pricey but I think it's totally worth it, especially if you wear it every day.
Okay...I am guilty as well. It's Tiffanee. I always read your blog but never comment - sorry. I love knowing how things are going and seeing your wonderful pictures.
I have used Lancome defincils for years. I don't mind spending a little extra for mascara! And if you buy it during bonus buy time it is just as economical as drugstore brand:) Let me know which one you try!
I'm faithful to Maybelline's Great Lash mascara...though I do buy waterproof b/c my eyes water so much that if I don't, I look like I've just watched Love Story within a few hours of application. All the fashion mags are faithful to it too...I think that is why I just don't branch out and try anything else (besides the fact that I'm cheap and don't want to spend more than a drugstore brand).
I found your blog while doing a little blog-jumping! Love it...and I can help with the mascara issue. I, too, love my mascara and have found one brand that is amazing. Trish McEvoy BLACK lash curling mascara! I buy 4 of them at a time! It is more expensive but it doesn't run AT ALL, when you get it wet it kind of rolls of your lashes. Hard to imagine...you just need to try it. It's sold at department stores.
